Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Belize
You are personally greeted at the Belize International Airport by a representative of Adventures
in Belize. Your representative will direct you over to the local airline desk where you will board
your flight to Dangriga. The flight take around 20 minutes and on arrival in Dangriga where you are
met by someone from the island resort of Coco Plum. You will be transferred to the dock where you
board a boat for the island. Coco Plum is located only eight miles due east of the culturally-rich,
southern coastal town of Dangriga, a quick 15 minute boat ride, and only 10 minutes away from the
barrier reef. Arrive at the resort, check in and settle into your accommodations on the beach. Your
welcome package includes local products uniquely packaged for this occasion. Candlelight dinner on
your own verandah!!
Day 2: Snorkeling and Kayaking
Breakfast on the island, which includes coffee or tea, fresh juice, fresh tropical fruits as well as
eggs, bacon, sausage, fried jacks, toast, and Johnny cakes. Morning snorkel tour to the reef. Lunches
are typically light and include dishes such as fish hoagies, BLT sandwiches on homemade bread, or Hudut,
a delicious local Garifuna soup of fish fillets in coconut milk. Kayak around the islands in the afternoon.
The property, by the way consists of three individual islands. Do a little island hopping as there are
several islands within a short paddle from the Caye. For the more experienced kayaker, visit the Barrier
Reef, about 4 miles away. Dinners include backed lobster with vegetable rice and salad, or fish balls in
red sauce with spaghetti, or of course a traditional Belizean meal of stewed chicken, rice and beans cooked
in coconut milk, potato salad, and plantain slices.
Day 3: Inland Adventure of Your Choice
Breakfast on the island. For today's adventure, you can add one of the land trips. Recommended choice -
Tour Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. A 20-minute drive from the coastal town of Dangriga. This park
was declared a national reserve in 1984, which today includes over 100,000 acres. It is the only jaguar
reserve in the world and is home to a variety of wildlife including the jaguar, ocelots, jaguarondis,
scarlet macaw parrots.
Day 4: Birding and Snorkeling
Breakfast on the island. Try Birding today - Located just 1/2 mile from Coco Plum Caye, the Man-O-War
Island is a designated bird sanctuary. It is home to a variety of indigenous bird species, including
Pelicans, Brown Booby birds and and Magnificent Frigate birds that soar in great numbers above the island.
Lunch at the resort. Snorkeling tour in the afternoon. Dinner on the island.
Days 5: Guanacaste and Blue Hole National Parks - tour the Capital
Breakfast on the island. Tour the Guanacaste and Blue Hole National Parks. This is a full day tour
that begins at the park closest to Caves Branch on the Hummingbird Highway. The Blue Hole National
Park is where an underground river emerges briefly to form a pool that is lined with trees, flowers,
and rocks. This is a great swimming hole. Your next is St Hermans Cave, located in the same park.
Drive on to Belmopan to Guanacaste Park. While at this park, be sure to stop at the visitor's center,
which contains information about the animal life, birds, and butterflies you may see along the trails.
Drive through the capital city of Belmopan with its quiet, suburban feel with modest homes, then on to
the heat of the city where you can view several government buildings, the Capital, and the fresh produce
market. Drive back to your dock, and take the boat back to the island in the afternoon. Relax on the
beach for a while before dinner on the island.
Day 6: Free Day to Relax
Breakfast on the island. You can add another adventure to your package such as diving or fishing.
There are excellent dive sites as well as fishing grounds all around the island and on the reef...
perfect for both activities. These activities can be added to the package for a surcharge or you
can arrange for these activities directly at the resort. Lunch on the island. Snorkel and island
hopping would be a good idea for the afternoon. Try a sunbath on the dock or in the gazebo.
Day 7: Departure
Breakfast on the island and check out from the resort. You will be transferred by boat to Dangriga
for a quick plane ride back to the International airport and off to your next exciting destination
in Belize...
