Thatch Caye is a small 12 acre island
about 1 mile long, located in the southern waters of Belize- 9
miles offshore of Dangriga. This area is in a marine park
surrounded by calm azure waters, sand flats and mangroves. It is
also located very near a renowned Bird Sanctuary where hundreds
of frigates, boobies and pelicans make their home.

The Adventures in Belize Staff just visited this island
retreat and were completely blown away by the awesome service
that the resort staff offered, from the second they arrived at
the boat dock in Dangriga to the moment that we left the island.
Each of the island staff was extremely friendly, helpful and
made the entire stay a trip to remember!
Guests are welcomed by the onsite owner/manager and the bar
and lounge feature awesome craftsmanship and a unique Belizean
touch in woodwork and décor.
Meal time is amazing! Guests are ushered into
a lovely dining room with warm subtle lighting and a delicious
three course dinner. Satellite TV provides extended
entertainment at the bar with a few games and lounge seating for
relaxing and getting to know your fellow guests and bartender.
Each room on the island is beautifully decorated with simple
but well chosen and modern furnishings, private bathroom and hot
shower, excellent lighting and ceiling and wall fans. For the
casitas, there is a top floor with a small palapa housing
hammocks and chairs. Gaze at the stars and enjoy the warm
Caribbean breeze while you listen to the soft lapping of the
waves just steps away.
Breakfast and Lunch are also well prepared and delicious!
Activities during the day include Diving, Snorkeling, Fishing,
Kayaking, Island hopping and day trips to the mainland are also
available. The Barrier Reef is located just a 10 minute boat
ride from the island and various sites for diving and snorkeling
are offered for each trip. Dive trips can extend to nearby
Glovers Reef- a 45 minute boat ride from the island, or even
Turneffe Island and the Blue Hole- for those serious dive
enthusiasts.
